Algeria (Arabic: الجزائر, al-Jazā’ir; Tamazight: ⴷⵥⴰⵢⴻⵔ, Dzayer, French: Algérie), officially the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria, is a country in North Africa. In terms of land area, it is the largest country on the Mediterranean Sea, the second largest on the African continent after Sudan, and the eleventh-largest country in the world.

Algeria is bordered in the northeast by Tunisia, in the east by Libya, in the west by Morocco, in the southwest by Western Sahara, Mauritania, and Mali, in the southeast by Niger, and in the north by the Mediterranean Sea. Its size is almost 2,400,000 square kilometres (930,000 sq mi), and it has an estimated population of about 35.7 million (2010). The capital of Algeria is Algiers.

Officially known as the Republic of Albania, is a country in South Eastern Europe. It is bordered by Montenegro to the northwest, Kosovo to the northeast, the Republic of Macedonia to the east and Greece to the south and southeast. It has a coast on the Adriatic Sea to the west, and on the Ionian Sea to the southwest. It is less than 72 km (45 mi) from Italy, across the Strait of Otranto which links the Adriatic Sea to the Ionian Sea.

The Islamic Republic of Afghanistan is a landlocked country in South-Central Asia.[4] It is variously described as being located within South Asia,Central Asia, and sometimes Western Asia (or the Middle East).
